My name is Lena Kraus, I am a paddler from North Berwick in Scotland. I have been drawn to paddling for as long as I can think - I started with a discarded surfboard on a tiny stream. My first experiences with organised sports were as a slalom paddler in Germany. Since then, I have enjoyed many different paddlesports disciplines, most recently surfski, which is how I currently spend most of my water-time on the North Sea in Scotland. After an injury that left me thinking I would never compete again, I've worked my way back and have recently been selected to represent GB at the Ocean Racing World Championships in Perth, Western Australia. As you can imagine, there are many costs involved in travelling to an event like that, and in making all the necessary training happen in the first place. Renting a boat for my competitions in Australia will cost around 500 €, so raising that amount would be an important stepping stone in getting me race-ready!
I appreciate any support, so if you can't or don't want to donate, having a look at my blog or following along with my progress on my social media means a lot, too.
